Shawna is an entrepreneur. She has been in the business of business for many years and loves the fast-paced environment and especially the commitment to the community. When her daughter was born, she and her husband decided to downsize and focus on smaller-scale businesses — so, along came PostNet.
Since 2010, Shawna has worked diligently for her community as a local PostNet owner. For her, the greatest part about owning a franchise is that it truly is a community business — her PostNet store is the neighborhood PostNet.
Not only is she a local source for many community printing, design, and shipping needs, but she also dedicates her time to the community outside of her PostNet duties. Shawna utilizes her skills from PostNet as well as some of PostNet’s many services, to assist in her leadership roles in local community organizations, such as the Shoebox Committee.
Even after all of her work within the community and the PostNet center, she leaves room for her dedication to her employees and her customers. She and her store manager, Morgan, have a particularly special relationship. Under Shawna’s leadership, Morgan has grown into an extremely talented head designer, passionate about her work, and loyal to her customers.
Take it from the owners of Pineapple Kitchen, a loyal customer and local business offering charcuterie, murder mystery dinner nights, and more. We had the opportunity to sit down with Shawna, Morgan, and two of their most loyal customers to chat about what it’s like working as a team at PostNet, and how customers respond to their quality of work and attention to customer service.
How did you get started with PostNet?
Shawna: Some of the things that drew my husband and I to PostNet was being able to be involved with the community.
Why do you like working at PostNet?
Morgan: It’s like a family feeling between employees, with Shawna, and with our customers. We are all tight-knit.
Shawna: I’m looking to support other small businesses within our community.
What is your relationship with your customers like?
Shawna: I love when my customers come in or they ask for somebody in particular.
Morgan: I feel really valued here and that the work I do is important.
Why is it important to run your PostNet for small businesses?
Shawna: Small businesses are the backbone of our community. We want our customers to thrive. The more they are successful in their business, the more they’re going to help our community thrive also.
At PostNet, our customers come first. We don’t just ‘do business.’ We get to know you, even become friends, because we’re proud to be your neighbor. We offer our design, print, and shipping services with the sole purpose of helping you and your business thrive. At PostNet, we’re on a first-name basis.
Speaking with Shawna was just one of the many opportunities we had to speak with customers and owners in our ‘First-Name Basis’ campaign series. Check out some of our other amazing customers who we get to work with every day — Betsy & David’s pie shop, Darden’s Delights, and Kevin’s CrossFit gym!
